The Soul On The Edge Team
-
Jem Booth
Jem has been with Soul on the Edge since day one, the name “Soul on the Edge” being conceived many years ago when Jem and fellow “Soulster” Mick McNulty (Macky) used to run soul nights above The Edge nightclub in Poulton. Mick was eventually replaced by friend John Townend, another purveyor of fine soul music and the duo ran soul events at Kirkham Conservative Club and The Foxfields Hotel until John’s retirement a few years ago. Jem decided to continue with the assistance of experienced local DJ Derek Smith and wanted to run larger events so opted to increase the size of his team, hence the inclusion of Richard and Annette. Both on the soul scene too and highly experienced individuals in their own field. Jem’s motto has always been “If a jobs worth doing it’s worth doing right!” The Dalmeny Hotel weekender is testament to that.

Rich McGarvey
“Rich” has been on the soul scene for donkeys years, originally a Wigan Casino “Soul boy” Rich has had a life long love of soul music. His directorship and business knowledge is first class, often advising Jem of the best way forward. Rich has also taken on the mantle of programme production and assists at all major events promoted by Soul on the Edge, it is he that manufactures most of our literature and much of the promotional material.

Annette Flood
This lady has Soul in her bones! Annette has worked on Hospital Radio/ FM Radio stations and also brings a wealth of knowledge on Hospitality/Front of House which is a great backdrop for our SOTE weekenders. She prefers the commercial side of Soul Music and always reflects that in her DJ sets. A valued addition.
